# NIS targets October 15 for fully online registration and contributions

GEORGETOWN — Guyana is targeting Oct. 15, 2026 for National Insurance Scheme registration and contribution services to become fully available online, with other NIS services expected to follow later this year.

Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation Minister Zulfikar Ally announced the timetable in September, saying registration and contributions should be fully digital by the target date. Compliance and benefits services are targeted for digitalisation by the end of 2026.

NIS already provides some online functions. Employers can submit electronic contribution schedules online, while an existing contribution-checking system allows registered users to review contribution records.

Those existing services should not be confused with completion of the broader digitalisation programme.

The government says physical service centres and help desks will remain available for people who need assistance accessing digital services.

For workers and employers, the key point is that the October 15 milestone remains a target. Availability and functionality should be confirmed on the official NIS platforms after that date.
