How to turn Guyanese: The Lindsayca story!
Have you wondered why the Gas To Energy Project is overrun by delays and cost overruns? Why it’s always going to produce power ‘in six months’ but that post keeps moving in sync with the Gregorian calendar? Do you see the similarities to a house painter on a ‘day pay’ regime? Or more accurately like the Guyanese mechanic who has taken your vehicle apart and every time you ask needs more money for another part? The answer is simple my friends, Lindsayca, the GTE contractor from hell have ‘ become guyanese’. Here’s how this happened…
Phase 1. Start by being Venezuelan, cloak yourself in the American flag and dupe the US government into lobbying for work in Guyana as part of promotion of ‘American interests’. Much like those basement dwellers in Queens with a green card, a rap sheet, big mouth and comical accent. You know the ones ‘ hey guys’…
Phase 2. Having secured the largest project in Guyana’s history, shaft everyone that worked on the engineering and development and move to sourcing everything cheap, labor, parts and engineering.
Phase 3. Setup a company outside of Guyana, have that company buy everything from suppliers and resell to the Guyana entity at three times the price.
Phase 4. Run out of money, blame the government and then carry the government to court claiming that the information provided by the government was insufficient/incorrect, use friends in that same government to praise your ‘work’ and get them to influence government to give you more money.
Phase 5. Use the extra money given by Guyana to finance US lobbying efforts to get GTE2! Trump official, Jarrod Egan is a close friend of the Fuentes family and has been pushing for Lindsayca to reap more benefits in Guyana.
Meanwhile, GTE 1 is such a mess that nobody else is willing to take over the project. Only Lindsayca knows what the hell they have done and no one else wants to take the chance a single vibrating pile sends the whole thing KABOOM!
Phase 6. Now Lindsayca has Guyana over a barrel, insist that senior government officials make public appearances promising ‘power by December’ … one month after they make these promises, ask them for more money…
Phase 7. Use ‘friendly officials’ in Guyana to delay and frustrate the GTE 2 project until Lindsayca is the only company left with any interest , today, 16th October 2026, the following message was sent:

Dear Bidder,
The above subject refers.
You are requested to submit extension of Bid Bonds/proposal security for Phase II Gas to Energy Project for a further six (6) months. Kindly have this sent by 9am Friday October 23, 2026.—— ends
This inane request asks bidders to spend more money on bid bonds and to guarantee prices for a further six months. Given the current global demand for power, and rising costs for all components of power plants, only a crook or liar would guarantee prices for such an extended period.
Of course it could be that another power ship in coming and that is a racket of another kind and for another day.
Currently, Lindsayca and Government of Guyana are engaged in a contest of stares and it looks as if Guyana will blink first.
So Guyanese, do you want power from gas or do we want this gaslighting to continue? Is it not time for Government of Guyana to fire this ‘day pay’ scamming company?
